How to make a perfect Macchiato

Very easy way to make the perfect classic Macchiato. with just some basic ingredients and tools, you can enjoy a perfectly quality Macchiato. So step by step I will show you how to make the perfect Macchiato.

Ingredients and Tools:

  1. Espresso coffee beans (or ground espresso)
  2. Milk (whole milk is preferred, but you can use any type)
  3. Water
  4. Espresso machine 
  5. Milk frother 
  6. Coffee grinder (if using whole beans)

First Step (Prepare the Espresso):

At first need to Espresso sort. So grind your coffee beans with the grinder. And then you have to use about 18-20 grams of coffee grounds for a double shot of espresso. If you want to drink light coffee you can use one sort of espresso. Normally two-sort espresso is perfect for Macchiato. Tamp the grounders in the portafilter and then brow the espresso. You have to wait 15 to 20 seconds for two kinds of espresso.

2nd Step ( Heat the Milk):

And then take some milk and if you’re using an espresso machine with a steam wand, position the tip of the wand just below the surface of the milk. and turn on the steam. Heat the milk to about 150°F (65°C). If you don’t have a steam wand, you can use a stove or microwave. 

3rd Step (Froth the Milk):

To create your milk creamy, frothy, you will need to introduce air into the milk while heating it. If you using a steam wand, move the pitcher in a circular motion and then  adjust the wand position to create microfoam such as small, silky bubbles. If you see milk frother or whisk, vigorously whisk the hot milk until it becomes frothy.

Final Step (Combine Espresso and Milk):

And then take the freshly brewed espresso into a coffee cup. Then, slowly pour the hot  milk with frothed milk over the espresso. After that once most of the milk is in the cup, brew remaining foam on top to create a thick, creamy layer.

Now your perfect Macchiato is ready for drink. If you like you can use sugar, sweetness, honey, or any flavor syrup such as caramel, coconut, hazelnut.

The calorie in a Macchiato can vary depending on the size of the drink. and also vary depending on  what type of milk and flavor you are using.

Normally, a standard 12 ounce Macchiato made with whole milk contains around 180 calories. if you take a small size (one sort) and use skim milk, you could reduce the calorie count. 

If you use sugar, sweetness, honey or any flavor syrup such as caramel, coconut, and hazelnut those are increased coffee’s calories.
